RIP - '87 Cadillac Sedan Deville
Well, she didn't last very long - mostly because I really stressed the poor girl too much, but I still miss the old girl. This was my first car, and there's a special place in my heart for the Caddie... Yes, this car had the infamous HT4100 (4.1L 249 cid V8 that was known to have numerous issues), but it was rebuilt before I purchased the car. I blew the tranny after a couple of months, and the engine finally gave way, forcing me to sell it.
I punished the car for over a year before she finally gave out. It's the only car I've had/driven that could haul me, ten of my closest friends (sure, some had to see the inside of the trunk) in style. I bought this car at the tender age of 16, and had no idea how much stress I was putting the car through :(
The only bad thing I have to say about this car (other than the reliability issues) is this - I have never been pulled over by the police so much before or after. Maybe it was the fact that a 16 year old toque-wearing driver, windows down, sunroof open, music bumping... I dunno!?! But, I was pulled over a total of 7 times in the 19 months I owned the car, receiving only one ticket (and I'm not that good at weaseling out of tickets).
I wouldn't be surprised to have another Caddie in my stable at some point in time...
The Cadillac was replaced by the 1988 Camaro.
